Movie Barcode Generator
A movie barcode generator turns a film into a single image: each shot is reduced to its average colour and drawn as one thin vertical stripe, so the whole running time reads left-to-right like a barcode. Type a title, press generate, and you get a colour barcode you can view full-screen, download or share.
How to make a movie barcode
- Enter a film title — autocomplete suggests titles from the catalogue as you type.
- Press Generate to build the barcode from the film's palette and shot rhythm.
- Open the preview card to check the year, director and key colours.
- Go full screen for a poster-scale view, then download or share the image.
What the colours mean
Wide bands mean long takes and a stable palette — a dialogue scene or a single location. Rapid flickering means fast cutting, usually action or montage. Sudden hue shifts mark act breaks, new locations or a change in lighting design. Barcodes for films graded teal-and-orange look strikingly different from those shot on warm film stock.
Ready-made barcodes
